Our museum is interactive and family friendly, telling the story of Lybster from its beginnings to the modern day.
Inside the museum you’ll find information on the natural history and geology of our area and can try your hand at making fossils. Outside you’ll find a stone circle made from the rocks you’ll find in the surrounding area.
Lybster started its days as a small crofting village which became one of the biggest European herring fishing ports before settling back into the peaceful place you can visit today. Our museum tells the story of this journey.
